What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a skin condition, characterised by tiny red blood vessels, small bumps and pus-filled spots, similar to acne, appearing on the surface of the skin. The nose, cheeks, and forehead are the areas mainly affected.

Symptoms often start with episodes of flushing, but these can progress to itching and burning sensations, spots or blood vessels becoming visible. The redness may be harder to see on darker skin.

Other symptoms can be dry skin, swelling notably around the eyes, yellow-orange patches on the skin.
